Cannot install extension, Error

Hi,

 

Am trying to install this extension but receive an error: 

CONNECT ERROR: Failed to open file /srv/www/xyz.com/downloader/.cache/community/m2epro_ebay_magento-6.4.3/app/code/community/Ess/M2ePro/Block/Adminhtml/Common/Amazon/Template/Description/Category/Specific/

Do you try to install an extension via magento connect manager? The errors may appear when something is wrong with connection between magento and connect manager. Try to install the m2e via php admin panel. Download the latest version of the M2E Pro from https://github.com/m2epro/magento-extension or http://freegento.com/ddl-magento-extension.php and then extract zip file in your Magento root folder. Or keep trying to install via connect manager until succeed.

Thanks, that isn't it. I got an email from support that it is a known conflict between Magento Connect Manager and PHP version 5.4 or higher.  They also suggested I install it from the backend. 

haven't tried it yet but will probably do it over the weekend when I have more time to troubleshoot
